Albert Camus on the cinema
Under the cycle and Cinema and Present 2013-2014, the University of the Balearic Islands has organized the program Albert Camus on the cinema, a selection of films that are related to the figure of the French writer. To celebrate the centenary of his birth, several films and documentaries will be screened in the Teatre Municipal Catalina Valls in Palma de Mallorca until the upcoming Thursday 5th of December.
The next film that will be screened is the film Is Paris Burning?, by Rene Clement, on Thursday 28th of November. The films The Battle of Algiers (Gillo Pontecorvo) and Breathless (Jean -Luc Godard) will be the last movies programmed for the 3rd and 5th of December, respectively.
Albert Camus was born the 5th of November 1913 in Algeria, when the country was still a French colony. Three years after receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature was killed in a car accident in the French Provence.
All the screenings are free.
