Classical music in Deià
The upcoming 5th of September at 8:30 pm, in the framework of the 35 Deià International Music Festival 2013, Son Marroig hosts the concert "Fiddle Series: Mustonen is 60!: Crazy Opera, Crazy Musicals", with interpretation by Estonian violinist Andres Mustonen and Spanish pianist Alfredo Oyagüez Montero. They will perform a selection of the best operas and music works by Purcell, Händel, Mozart, Gluck, Caccini, Verdi, Rossini, Bizet, Gershwin and Bernstein.
The following week, on Thursday 12th of September will take place The Orgy of the Arts, a performance based on improvisation, mixing music, painting and poetry, by the pianist Eleuterio Dominguez, painter Guillermo Oyágüez and poet Juan Pedro López Laso.
The 35 edition of this prestigious festival will close on Thursday 26th of September at Son Marroig, with a multimedia concert performance. Cuerpo Melancólico is the title of a poem by the Peruvian writer Eduardo Eielson that names the show, which will involve Ejnar Kanding (one of the founders of the Contemporary Ensemble), pianist Alfredo Montero Oyagüez and video editor Carsten Bo Eriksen. The program includes works by Antonio de Cabezon, Blasco de Nebra, Manuel de Falla, Mateo Albéniz, Enrique Granados and Joseph Prohens, among others.
