David Gómez: A piano & 200 candles
The renowned pianist David Gómez is back once again to Majorca and Ibiza with his performance "A piano and two candles", a concert for lovers of quality music and romantic events. The magic of these concerts is not just in the interpretation skills of the pianist and the beautiful repertoire, but also in the well selected places, all of them special for their history and its uniqueness: lighthouses, train stations, castles, abandoned factories, etcetera. A total of 200 candles will illuminate the renowned concert pianist and composer, who will play works by Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Frédéric Chopin, Ernesto Lecuona, Astor Piazzolla, as well as his own compositions.
The Swiss-born artist launched a few months ago the album The Island, with vibrant, intense and subtle twelve songs. Produced by Joe Dworniak to Riverfish Records, this album was recorded in the UK and is inspired in Majorca, his favorite island. Some of his most significant compositions are The Island, The Lighthouse, The Family and 16 years old, which remind of the magic of the most iconic soundtracks by Ennio Morricone.
The ability of the Swiss interpreter to excite and above all to delight and engage all our senses makes these recitals an essential event in Majorcan summer. A talented musician that has been seducing his followers since his first concert when he was 14 years old.
The first concert will take place in the great lighthouse of Port Andratx, on Thursday 4th of July at 10 pm. David Gómez will also offer concerts in the Valldemossa Charterhouse (Majorca), Sant Joan (Ibiza), the bastion of Sant Pere (Ibiza), the Castle of Son Vida (Majorca), the Sóller's train station in Bunyola (Majorca), the Capdepera Castle (Majorca) and Artà's talaiots (Majorca).
