Lars von Trier choose a Majorcan short movie for his new film
The Danish filmmaker known for films such as Antichrist, Melancholia, Dancer in the Dark and Breaking the Waves will present next 11st of October in the Charlottenborg Kunsthal of Copenhagen the work Gesamt, a unique project that will combine film works of other filmmakers around the world. Among them are the Majorcan Álvaro Casares and Josep Hernández, creators of a stop motion film inspired by the Nuremberg stadium designed by Albert Speer, the first architect of the Third Reich and the architect of the Devil.
Precisely because of its affinity with Albert Speer and his controversial statements in the context of the latest edition of the Festival de Cannes in which he said "I understand Hitler", Von Trier generated controversy on the media and the public opinion. The laureate Danish filmmaker goal has been to devise a masterpiece based on the reinterpretation of amateur artists around the globe who have performed short films inspired in their favorite works. Von Trier himself took care to select the 142 short films that constitute Gesamt, a movie that can be seen until the end of the year.
