Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla 2012
The 18th Jazz Festival Mallorca Sa Pobla, held this year between the 7th and 21st of August, has this edition internationally known artists and icons of the best European blues.
The group Spikedrivers was the lead in the opening of this year's festival, a trio of blues inspired by American roots that offered a concert in the main square of Sa Pobla. With just 20 years old the British guitarist Krissy Matthews comes to Mallorca as one of the great promises of European blues, with a concert to be held on 10th of August in Sala Rex, Sa Pobla. On Tuesday 14th of August the Catalan trumpeter Felix Rossy Septet, with pianist Toni Vaquer, drummer Santi Colomer, saxophonist Ernesto Aurignac, bass Deejay Foster, guitarist James Llompart and tenor saxophonist Henry Oliver, performing on the main square of the village.
Another of the highlights of the Festival Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla is the performance of the Japanese and contemporary jazz pianist Satoko Fujii, next Thursday for the first time in Mallorca with a show that will have as a background the projection of the horror film The Phantom of opera by Rupert Julian. Saxophonist Noah Preminger will close the Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla next Tuesday 21st of August accompanied by guitarist Ben Monder.
