Phoenix International Media Center in Beijing
This extraordinary architectural project of 64,972 m2 of constructed area in a plot area of 65,000 m2 is located in the southwest of Chaoyang Park in Beijing. In addition to offices, studios and production rooms that will host the television crew of the Phoenix Media Group, the building provides various public open spaces.
The logic of design, developed by the Chinese architecture study BIAD UFo, is to create an ecological environment through a shell-shaped roof that facilitates ventilation and air conditioning regardless of the season. There are also numerous ladders, platforms, ramps and escalators that fill the building of dynamic spaces, and the sculptural form of the building also provides a great harmony over irregular shapes of the surrounding streets and the park.
