The perception of space
The museum Es Baluard in Palma hosts the temporary exhibition The perception of space, curated by Soad Houman and Catalina Joy. This exhibition is dedicated to sculpture by Es Baluard and focused on the last quarter of the 20th Century and the first decade of the 21st. The main aim of the exhibition is to "illustrate the heterogeneity of the responses art has developed around sculpture, not only in Spain but also internationally". The perception of space presents creations of minimalism, conceptual art and land art by artists such as Josep Maria Alcover, Andreu Alfaro, Jürgen Partenheimer or Fernando Megías.
Despite until the beginning of the 20th century sculpture was relegated to a back seat in comparison to painting, from the second half of the 20th century the discipline adopted a more prominent role with the new emerging currents. The perception of space could be visited in Es Baluard museum until next 13th of January.
