'To Kill a Mockingbird' in original version
Next Tuesday 12nd of March the film To Kill a Mockingbird will be screened in original version in Sala Augusta, within the framework of the second edition of Cinegusta35 cycle, an initiative that retrieves classic films in original version in Palma de Mallorca.
Following the success of the screening of classic movies such as West Side Story by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Richard Brooks, Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock's or Planet of the Apes, by Franklin J. Schaffner, the Sala Augusta in Palma will screen To Kill a Mockingbird, a film directed by Robert Mulligan in 1962. This movie is the adaptation of the novel by Harper Lee whose backdrop is a southern town during the Great Depression. The lawyer Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck in a brilliant performance for which he won the Oscar for Best Actor) defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. Despite his obvious innocence, much of the people are opposed to the defendant and the noble lawyer will face some of the citizens to defend justice and the innocence of that man.
Cinegusta35 is ending next 26th of March with the screen of a film selected by the audience, who can make their vote through Facebook.
