Valldemossa International Chopin Festival
Within the Valldemossa International Chopin Festival, the young Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov yesterday gave a concert in the Cloister of the Monastery of Valldemossa. This promising young pianist with just 22 years old has won numerous international awards, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition, the Frédéric Chopin Competition or Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
The program played by the young Trifonov included in the first part the Preludes by Frédéric Chopin, while in the second part he played Rachmaniana, a work by Trifonov, and a work by Sergei Rachmaninov.
The program of this year's festival includes concerts by pianist Vanessa Perez on Sunday 11st of August and by Pawel Wakarecy on Sunday 18th of August. The mezzo-soprano Zandra McMaster will put an end to this festival with pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre on Sunday 25th of August.
