Husband and wife Chan-li Lin and Denise Ferris design a modern house - a weekend house - on a small hill 80 kilometers north of the city in Waccabuc, New York. This house is built on an ancient structure and living spaces are at the level of the roof of the old house, where abundant trees would provide privacy.
The second floor, a rectangular volume, cantilevers dramatically 20 feet from each end of the property. These cantilevers are supported by two steel trusses and the base shelters a garage at the east and a porch at the west.
